30 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDIMOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 3. 1933 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor R. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, <br />R. N. Jones, C. G. Lembert, Paul A. McCarthy, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Abe -ant: Council— <br />man, C. J. Hildebrant and G. W. McNulty. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 19 were approved on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded <br />by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Stephen G. Seasak, a plumber, asked the Council to reduce plumbers' licenses. He was requested <br />to take up the matter with the other plumbers of the town and have them agree upon some <br />proposal which they could make to the Council either in person or in writing. <br />A petition was presented, signed by several property owners along Jefferson Avenue, requesting <br />that some Eucalyptus trees in the 14OC—block, between Clinton and Cleveland, be removed. <br />The matter was referred to the City Manager. <br />On motion ok Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, application for alcoholic <br />beverage license of the University Creameriee, Ltd., N. P. Christensen, Manager, was granted. <br />The question of the kind of business being operated by Charles Foley, at the corner of Broadway <br />and Hamilton Streets, was brought up and the Clerk was instructed to ask Mr. Foley to appear <br />before the Council at the adjourned meeting for July 10. <br />A request was made on the Council for a contribution of $100 toward defraying some of the expense <br />Incurred by the San Mateo County Harbor Committee. Before making the contribution, it was <br />thought'b'sst to refer the matter to the City Manager for further investigation. <br />Mayor Dusel was instructed by the Council to send a telegram to the Secretary of Commerce, <br />Washington, D. C., concerning the appointment of a State Director under the National In— <br />dustrial Recovery Act. The following telegram was sent: <br />"Relative to the matter of State Director National Industrial Recovery <br />Act it is requested that you seriously consider the suggestions of the <br />California Municipal Utilities Association." <br />Tony Giraldes who owns the property at 2303 E1 Camino Real, asked permission of the Council to <br />have transferred the Pool Hall license now held in the name of Santiago E. Calaor to <br />Nick Bustillo. His request was referred to the Chief of Police with the idea that if his <br />investigation proved satisfactory that the permission would be granted immediately.. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. <br />The meeting adjourned to meet at a special meeting July 10. <br />BEM:MR <br />City Clerk <br />1 <br />Al <br />I <br />�I <br />I <br />
