320
Councilman Eva for the 1915 Act Committee submitted 21 resolutions accepting
Quit Claim Deeds from property owners and asked that these resolutions be
passed that the City might have legal title to the property. Accordingly,
on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the 21
resolutions were unanimously passed.
Councilman Eva also spoke about disposition of the lots after the City has title
and asked what policy the Council wished to set up in connection therewith.
He was told to furnish a list of the property to the realtors who had
helped the committee appraise the property affected by the 1915 Act de-
linquencies. It was also decided to have the list published and to get
informal tenders wherever possible with the sale being made to the highest
bidder.
Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed that the Re-
creation Department be authorized to donate a trophy and medals in connection
with its athletic contests. Carried.
There was some discussion concerning the McCarthy property facing Harrison Street
between Clinton and Duane. As the regular set -back along this street
would make an building impracticable, and as the owner suggested that he be
allowed to establish a set -back of 10 feet, 8 feet, and 6 feet, from Clinton
to Duane Street, the matter was referred to the Planning Commission.
Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher proposed the adoption of
resolution authorizing the Treasurer to enter into an agreement with the
Bank of America respecting the City funds deposited with the bank in both
active and inactive accounts. Carried.
As the bank pays only 1 per cent on inactive, and under new legislation no in-
terest at all on the active fund, it was thought desirable, if possible, to
invest up to the amount of the Revolving Fund, surplus funds in Redwood City
municipal bonds on at least a 1-3A per cent basis, and the City Treasurer
was instructed to pick up any short maturity Redwood City bonds available.
The department reports were ordered filed.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty andCouncilman
Fletcher.
Adjournment
BEM:mps
City e k
i,
G
l
