Two resolutions were submitted; one,
"determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition
under eminent domain proceedings" of the electrical distribution system of
the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and the second, "determining that
the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction, and
completion of" an electrical distribution system including land, poles,
lines, etc. Resolution No. 1 would authorize the City to institute con-
demnation proceedings against the corporation for the acquisition of the
electric distribution system at a price fixed by the Railroad Commission;
namely, $4880000. The second resolution would enable the City to negotiate
with the corporation for the purchase of the electrical distribution system
or, after a failure so to negotiate, to construct a separate system.
32'5
