N <br />1933 <br />ANNUAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />The Board of Equalization met according to law at 10 o'clock A.M., Monday morning, August 14, <br />and after a session, adjourned to complete investigation and the valuation of property, <br />to meet again on the evening of Monday, August 21. <br />At the first meeting, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, R. N. Jones, <br />C. G. Lambert, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: Councilmen H. A. <br />Seeger, C. J. Hildebrant, and Paul A. McCarthy. <br />At the meeting .of August 21, the following were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Seeger, R. N. <br />Jones, C. G. Lambert, Geo. I4. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: Councilmen C. J. <br />Hildebrant and Paul A. McCarthy. <br />Ella M. ,Williams, -401 Heller Street, through her,representative, H. L. Williams, protested the <br />valuation on the improvements for Lot 11, in Block 1401, but no change was made. <br />'Jens P. Harder, the owner of Block 502 requested a reduction in the valuation of his acreage, <br />but no change was made. <br />J. and Mary Lopez, owners of Blocks 501, 501-A and 501-B. also requested a deduction in the <br />valuation of their acreage but this also was allowed to stand. <br />Mr. V. Hartling, 322 Sierra Street, requested reduction in valuation for Lot 7 in Block 223, <br />but it was thought no reduction was advisable. <br />L. B. Winiger protested the valuation of the house on Lot 14 of Block 93 as being too high, but <br />it was finally decided to allow the valuation to stand. <br />Umile and Jacope Giannini asked for reduction in valuation fixed on Lots 34 and 34-A in Block <br />172 and upon investigation it was thought unnecessary to make any change. <br />Homer gesner asked for reduction in the valuation of his lots, being Lots 10, 11 and 11-A of <br />Block 240. These lots were combined into one lot known as Lot 10-A of Block 240 and the <br />price reduced from $750 to $600. <br />Mary B. McCleary of 903 Madison Street asked for a reduction on her lot No. 15 of Block 172 <br />and the valuation was changed from $450 to $250. <br />Adjournment, on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Beeger. <br />4-�- <br />city <br />C7 <br />BEM:MR <br />A <br />
