ii delivered by said Title Company to the Redwood City Harbor Company upon receipt <br />N <br />of a deed to the City of Redwood City of the following property free and clear of <br />all encumbrances, to -wit: <br />"Lots numbered seven (7) and eight (8) as shown on that certain map <br />entitled "Map of certain Lands Belonging to Redwood City Harbor <br />Company in San Mateo County, Calif." filed in the office of the <br />•County Recorder of San Mateo County September 23, 1921 in Book 10 <br />of Maps at pages 145 and 146. <br />"EXCEPTING THEREfi'ROM so much thereof, as conveyed by Redwood City <br />Harbor Company, a corporation, to Southern Pacific Railroad Company, <br />a corporation, by Deed recorded May 8, 19214 in Book 117 of Official <br />Records at page 62 thereof, said property so conveyed being the <br />Northwesterly and Northerly 148.5 feet of that certain strip of land <br />80 feet in width as shown on said map-" <br />On motion of Councilman Pletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, and carried, the pres- <br />ent committee, consisting of Mayor McCarthy and Henry Beeger, was instructed, with <br />the cooperation of City Attorney Mansfield, to secure, if possible, the Coast and <br />Valley Warehouse Company's ten -acre tract on the Harbor front upon a contract to <br />purchase the same by paying $750 or $1,000 upon the execution of said contract; <br />the further sum of $7,500 on the first day of July, 1938, and the balance on the <br />first day of July, 1939, the total purchase price being $1,500 an acre for said <br />ten acres of land. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried, the <br />committee, with the cooperation of the City Attorney, was requested to secure <br />' leases, extending for a five-year period with a privilege of a five-year exten- <br />sion upon the basis of a yearly rental of 14% on an estimated value of $1,500 an <br />acre, plus city and county taxes, upon the balance of the property lying between <br />the Bubblestone property and the Redwood City Yacht Harbor lands and Redwood <br />Creek and the Southern Pacific Railroad Company; said leases also to contain an <br />option permitting the City to purchase the various parcels included within said <br />leases during the term, or any extension thereof, for the sum of $1,500 per acre. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Hohn. <br />Adjournment. <br />City Clerk <br />BEM: HAS <br />
