W <br />EI <br />seconded by Councilman Eva, the Tax Collector was authorized to accept $538 in full <br />payment for taxes on this particular parcel instead of $729.91, total amount due. <br />The faculty of Sequoia Union High School requested the Council to aid them in a survey <br />to be undertaken for the purpose of ascertaining to what extent the high school <br />curriculum has been preparing students to take their places in the community. On <br />motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council went <br />on record as recognizing the propriety and value of the survey and endorsed the <br />project. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Mayor was <br />requested to send a telegram to our congressional representatives asking them to <br />support the Hayden Cartwright proposal to continue the present program with re - <br />gar& to state highway appropriations. <br />In taking up the discussion of City Hall facilities and the feasibility of utilizing <br />the present Central School building, it was deemed desirable to have a committee <br />appointed to go into this matter further, and especially, to confer with the Board <br />of Trustees of the Elementary School District. Accordingly, Mayor McCarthy asked <br />Councilman Eva to serve as chairman of the committee and Councilman Christensen <br />and Hohn to serve with him. <br />Following a discussion of the desirability of having either 80%i to 100% San Francisco <br />water, it was finally decided, on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, that the City Manager arrange with the San Francisco Water <br />Department to obtain our complete supply from them and make it 100%. <br />On motion of Councilman Hohn, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Council adjourned <br />to 8:00 o'clock P.
