1
1
As chairman of the committee to formulate, if possible, a policy toward outside com-
manities desiring the services of Redwood City utilities, Councilman Eva made
report. Concerning the community known as Friendly Acres, he indicated four
vossible choices:
1. That Friendly Acres deed the present water distribution system to
the city, the city to supply water at a rate comparable to that
charged other outside consumers;
2. That Redwood City supply water at the city limits, to be purchased
by the outside community at wholesale rates;
3. That Friendly Acres be annexed to Redwood City, Redwood City to pay
a reasonable sum for the present distribution system and supply con-
sumers at the regular Redwood City rate;
4. That Redwood City buy the Friendly Acres distribution system and put
a surcharge on the rate to return to Redwood City its capital invest-
ment; the surcharge to be removed, of course, when the capital outlay
had been taken care of.
No action was taken on the report, although the Council met with representatives
of the Friendly Acres community for an informal discussion.
The departmental reports were ordered filed.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by
Councilman Christensen.
Adjournment.
BEM:HAS
to .
City Clerk
7
 c
a •'.I,3
