Anderson, Louis C. Christensen, and Evans A. Fletcher, <br />were declared elected to the Council. Following the canvass of the votes, on motion <br />of Councilman Hohn, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Council adjourned, sine die. <br />City Clerk <br />BEM:HAS <br />,after a short intermission, the members of the new Council were called to order by the City <br />Clerk, and the first business was the selection of a permanent chairman and mayor. <br />Councilman Fletcher proposed the name of Louis C. Christensen for Mayor. His motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Hohn. There being no further nominations, the question was <br />put and Councilman Christensen was unanimously chosen as Chairman and Mayor. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Jones, the oaths of office of the <br />newly elected councilmen were ordered filed. <br />The City Attorney explained further about clearing the title to the library property and <br />thought, without question, by the next meeting he could make final report. <br />1 <br />The City Attorney also explained although he had written several letters to the people in <br />i <br />Sacramento concerning the title to the cemetery, that he had not received replies. <br />i <br />In connection with the real estate signs, the City Attorney submitted a proposed ordinance <br />regulating these sign boards and suggested that Councilmen McNulty and Jones take <br />copies of the ordinance and arrange to meet with representatives from the Real Estate <br />Board in an effort to ascertain whether or not such proposed ordinance would be accept- <br />able. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, hearing on the Friendly <br />Acres petition for annexation to Redwood City was continued until the next meeting. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City Attorney was <br />asked to prepare an amendment to the present ordinance affecting the erection of <br />barber poles (signs). <br />Druggists Fuller and Lock requested the Council to grant permission to the°Bear4people to <br />replace their large bear sign on the westerly side of the highway somewhere between <br />
