On motion by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the City Treasurer <br />was authorized to draw a warrant for $7,500 in favor of the Valley Coast and <br />Warehouse Company as the second payment on the purchase price of their property. <br />On motion by Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, a permit was given <br />to Leo Garcia to operate a pool hall at 97 Willow Street. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the claims presented <br />by the City Manager were ordered paid. <br />Adjournment. <br />BEM: HAS <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 18, 1939 <br />9:00 P.M. <br />City Clerk <br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, <br />IE. A. Fletcher, Robert N. Jones, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, Mayor <br />L. C. Christensen, and City Clerk B. E. Myers; absent, Councilman Wm. Hohn. <br />The minutes of the meeting of July 5 were approved on motion of Councilman Anderson, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Permit was given, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />to Jennie L. Eichelberger to operate a restaurant and tea room, 47 Whipple Avenue. <br />The Clerk read a report made and signed by the members of the Redwood City Park and <br />Recreation Commission outlining what had been done and what was hoped to be <br />done. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter indicating the appreciation <br />of the Council. <br />There was read an application from the American_ Brotherhood for the Blind asking per- <br />mission to hold a flower sale in Redwood City in support of the free services <br />to the blind in California.
