A. Beeger, C. J. Hildebrant, R. N. <br />Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Were. <br />Absent: Mayor W. J. Dusel. <br />On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Beeger, Councilman McCarthy was chosen <br />to serve as chairman. <br />The minutes of the meeting of September 5 were approved on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded <br />by Councilman Lambert. <br />Walter F. Hermann, representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, asked the Council for a donation <br />for athletic equipment, and on motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones, it was agreed to donate $10.00. <br />The Redwood City Promot41n Association, in a letter to the Council, said "It is not advisable <br />for the City of Redwood at present to purchase Emerald Lake Golf Course or to spend any <br />money on the property". Communication ordered filed. <br />Electrical license was granted to the Alta Electric and Mechanical Company of 467 O'Farrell <br />Street, San Francisca, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, pro— <br />vided the bond was approved by the City Attorney. <br />R. E. Savage of Redwood City, in a written communication, asked the City Council to request the <br />California State Automobile Association to place suitable warning signs at the equestrian <br />crossing or.the entrance to the Edgewood Riding Academy on Las Pulgas Road near Whipple <br />Road. It was decided, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, to <br />comply with the request, provided the owner pays for the sign in advance. <br />Affidavit showing publication of Ordinance No. 344 was ordered filed and the ordinance fixing <br />the amount of.money to be raised by taxation was finally adopted on motion of Councilman <br />Beeger, seconded by Councilman Me -Nulty. <br />
