j MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 16, 1933 <br />5:00 P'. M. <br />Upon.roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, V4. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeg er C. J. <br />s' Hildebrant, R. N. Jones,-C..G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty. Absent: City <br />a <br />s <br />f <br />4 <br />Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />In the absence of City Clerk, Councilman Beeger was chosen to serve as Clerk Protem. <br />The minutes of, the meeting of October 2 were approved on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty. <br />Mr.,Dempsey, Dr. J. N. Blood and Mr. Chas. Frey of the Veterans discussed with the Council im— <br />provementa relating to heating, ventilating, etc., of the United Veterans1 Hall. Moved by <br />Councilman. McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant and carried that the Council appro— <br />priate not to exceed $300 for a heating plant with the understanding that if necessary $150 <br />of the amount be paid in the next fiscal year. <br />Mr. Im. Hohn, Mrs. A. L. Lesseman, Mr. Al Davies, and others, discussed with the Council the <br />widening of E1 Camino Real or State Highway, and the surrendering thereof to the jurisdiction <br />of the State. Said matter was left pending for further discussion in the future after meet— <br />ings with the State Highway Commission and its engineers. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, and carried, the City Manager <br />was told to take the necessary steps to clear up the title of approximately three acres of <br />property adjoining the Easter Cross at Emerald Lake at a cost not exceeding $1200, to which <br />the City now has a deed for from Leonard & Holt. <br />On motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman McNulty, and carried, permission was <br />granted to Joseph Roza to put a bench on the sidewalk near the corner of Broadway and Arguello <br />Stregt, but that no advertising be placed upon said bench without the permission of the Council. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the approved claims were ordered <br />paid'. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, and carried, the meeting ad— <br />journed to Monday, October 23, 1933, at 5:00 P.
