i' I i i I improvements, could appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolu- tion of Intention No. 1938-5, or why said work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5 and now on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place aforesaid, when and where any and all persons having any objections to said work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5, or having any objections to the proposed grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or having any objections to the proposed district to be assessed for said work and im- provements, could appear before the Council of said City of Redwood City and show cause why said work and improvements should not be carried out in accord- ance with Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5, or why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the proposed grades as shown on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5 and now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City, or why said work and improvements should not be assessed against the district described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5, by map referred to therein, which map was approved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 8th day of August, 1938, certain persons appeared and made written objections to said work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5; and WHEREAS, said Council did proceed to hear and pass upon said written pro- tests and did resolve and determine that said protests were not made by the owners of one-half of the area of the property to be assessed for said work and improvements and said Council did overrule each and all of said protests and said Council having acquired jurisdiction to order said work and improve- ments: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience require the work and improvements herein described, and the Council of the City of Redwood City hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City of Redwood'City, to wit: spade That Quartz Street I{,�e and them of the , existing cemR.��""- � - pavement near the nortlT r'ly line of St. Yrancis Avenue to -Avenue del ,Ora, including the Intersection of 1 •r Quartz Street and Avenue del Ota; and Avenue del Ora from the end of :the existing cement concrete pavement .near the , production F northerly of the westerly line of • - _ , South Place across said Avenue del, Ora to the existing cement concrete , •pavement near the southeasterly - line of James Avenue including the • - Intersection of Avenue del Ora and Quartz Street, be improved as fol- lows, to -wit: ' That the Street and Avenue here- inbefore mentioned and intersec- tions thereof be graded' for ,their f full width and for the lengths men• - tlone'd_herein and described, and by having constructed on both sides � of said Street. and4,Avenue and s. around -the park within the inter, - section of said Quartz Street and , Avenue del'Ora, combined cement I concrete curbs and gutters, and - - by constructing between said com- bined curbs ana gutters a four (4") inch stabilized "slurry base The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to post a notice of said work and improvements, together with plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Chamber door of the Council of said City of Redwood City inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. Said City Clerk is also ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting such sealed proposals or bids and referring to the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications posted or on file for the period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily 439
