On motion of Councilman <br />Jones, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Manager was instructed to proceed with <br />the work. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the City Manager and Attorney <br />were authorized to ascertain the condition of certain insurance companies expecially those <br />in which the City is interested and to place the city insurance elsewheise if the investigation <br />proves the other insurance companies' cost unsuitable, also to give a notice of cancellation <br />of policies and to make claim for refund of balance of premium. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />Adjournment to 9:00 o'clock P.M., January 23, 1933. <br />BEM:MR <br />.y7. 4-. <br />CITY <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 23+ 1933 <br />9:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Seeger, R. N. <br />Jones, C. J. Hildebrant, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. <br />Myers. Absent: None. <br />Mr. Isaias N. Castro applied to the Council for permission to operate a pool room and soft drink <br />establishment at 2244 State Highway near Five Points. The matter was referred to Chief <br />Collins to report back at the next meeting. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, it was decided to appropriate <br />$50.00 as a subscription to the League of California Municipalities to aid in procuring legis— <br />lation affecting the placing of gas tax money within the municipality. <br />Councilman Beeger spoke about damage to his property at the corner of Perry Street and Broadway due <br />to the loose rock from the Southern Pacific Company's property. The City Clerk was instructed <br />to writethe Southern Pacific Company to see if something could be done about it. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Council appropriated $50.00 <br />as a donation for the Girl Scouts. <br />The Emerald Lake water Company, by'its President, George Leonard and Vice—President, C. H.
