The City Attorney reported that he had made some investigation concerning franchise fees for <br />corporations doing business in Redwood- City, but that he could not make a full and final <br />report as yet. Ee indicated that he and City Attorney Polson of San Mateo, were co— <br />operating in this work and would have more to report later. <br />The City Manager filed written report concerning the inventory and appraisal of physical <br />property owned by the city, giving a summary showing total city owned land and improve— <br />ments together with equipment and other facilities amounting to_,$3,493,884.87. Council— <br />man McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, wished the Council to go on record as <br />commanding the City Manager for_this excellent report, volunteered by him, and suggested <br />that if the Tribune published it that arrangement be made by the Manager to have separate <br />copies published and sent to all the water users of Redwood City, together with a report <br />of the Plater Department if found expedient to do so. <br />The.Building-Inspector stated to the Council that Margaret E. Chapman desired to build a tem— <br />porary structure on a lot near E1 Camino Real and Whipple Avenue, but that he could not <br />give her a permit because the lot was in the fire district. He was instructed to get <br />further details of the building and also to ask Mrs. Chapman to check up on the attitude <br />of the neighboring property owners. <br />In connection with the proposed destruction of old papers and documents at th@,City Fall, the <br />City Treasurer was given authority to do this provided the City Attorney and City Engineer <br />consented. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />Adjournment. <br />BEM.MR <br />city Cl <br />67 <br />
