Councilman McCarthy, seconded by•Councilman Beeger; said James Meredith Eva, Evans A. Fletcher <br />and Louis C. Christensen were declared elected members of the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City for the full term of four (4) years each. Motion carried unanimously. - <br />Mayor Dusel thanked the memberIa of the Council for their cooperation and extended to them and the <br />citizens his best wishes for successful operation of the city. <br />Councilman McCarthy, for the holdover members of the Council, spoke highly of the esteem in which <br />Councilman Beeger, Dusel.and Eildebrant *ere held and as a final token presented each with a <br />box of flowers for their -respective wives. Each of the retiring Councilmen expressed his <br />thanks to.the other Councilmen and their friends and a wish that the newly formed Council <br />would be successful in managing the affairs of the city. Finally, on motion of Councilman <br />McCarthy, seconded by Councilman, Jones, the Council adjourned sine die. <br />B.�. <br />City Clerk <br />MEETING OF THE MLY FOM10 COUNCIL <br />April 16, 1934 <br />Following the adjournment of the old Council, the newly elected members were sworn in by the City <br />Attorney and seated as members of the Council. <br />6� The first order of business was the selection of a presiding officer known as the Mayor. Council--,\� <br />man McNulty, seconded by Councilman Jones, proposed the name of Councilman Lambert to serve <br />as Chairman and Mayor. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed the <br />name of Councilman Eva. Upon roll 'call, Councilman Lembert received four votes and Councilman <br />Eva received three votes, thereby electing Councilman Lambert as Chairman and Mayor. Upon <br />taking his chair as Mayor, Mayor Lambert made a talk of introduction both to the Council and <br />.to the citizens present. Re was followed by other members of the Council. <br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk was instructed to notify <br />the banks that Mayor Lambert was authorized to sign the checks of the city, together with the <br />City Treasurer. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones, the oaths signed by the incoming <br />Councilmen were ordered received and filed. <br />Adjournment. <br />Bl�:l� <br />71 <br />
