Q <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />RE OOD CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 1, 193+ <br />5:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, C. G. Lambert, L. C. Chris— <br />tensen, J. M. Eva, E. A. Fletcher, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty,•City <br />Clerk, B. E. Myers. -Absent: None. <br />The minutes of the meeting of September 17, 1934, were approved on motion of Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty: <br />A card was received from E. C. Stewart of Stockton, asking whether or not anything had been <br />done toward arranging for a general bond issue election. Reply to the card was re— <br />ferred to the City Attorney. <br />Dora Wilson, Recording Secretary of the Bonita Parlor No. 102 Native Daughters of the Golden <br />West, protested the removal of trees, plants and shrubs planted in California Square. <br />Reply was referred to the City Manager, with instructions to assure Mrs. Wilson that <br />nothing -of this nature is contemplated. <br />The communication from the California Municipal Utilities Association was laid over until <br />the first meeting in November. <br />Henry Witte, representing the local organization in connection with the National Housing <br />Act, asked, first, that the Mayor issue a proclamation concerning it, and second, <br />that the Council make an appropriation of $250 for the purpose of publicity. Upon <br />motion of Councilman Pletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, this was done. with the <br />understanding that $100 would be taken from the Planning Commission and $150 from the <br />Reserve Fund. <br />At this meeting there came up for further consideration the adjustment of the confusion <br />which arose when E. I. Brown of 1420 Main Street did some construction work which was <br />not in accordance with the building restrictions. Councilman Fletcher moved that the <br />building be allowed to remain as it is, in which he was seconded by Councilman Eva. <br />It was understood that the plumbing would be altered to conform to the requirements of <br />J <br />the Building Inspector and that permission would be revocable at any time. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy announced the meeting of the Peninsula League of Municipalities at San <br />Jose, Thursday evening, October 15. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Coun— <br />oilman McNulty. <br />Adjournment. <br />BEd:MR <br />.1s7./(' <br />City Clerk <br />J <br />
