J
I
it
On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hohn, the Council
concurred in the recommendation of the Planning Commission in granting
C. H. Holt permission to subdivide Lot 12, Block 19, Central Park,
according to sketch submitted.
On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council
concurred in the recommendation of the city Planning Commission in grant-
ing C.' H. Holt permission to subdivide Lot 51 of the Reese Tract as shown
by sketch.
There was read a letter from the Planning Commission in which it was recom-
mended changing the setback line on the northeasterly side of E1 Camino
Real from the southerly line of Broadway to a point approximately 100
feet southeasterly from the southwest line of James Avenue, according to
map attached. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman
Anderson, there was introduced ordinance providing for this change of
setback line and directing that a public hearing be held at 8:00 P.M.,
May 6, 1940.
Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Hohn, proposed final adoption of
Ordinance No. 438, re -zoning Lots 2 and 3, Block 6, Range B, property
. along Arguello Street. Carried.
The city Tax Collector submitted the following letters:
1)
"Martin and Marie Stuefloten have purchased
Lots 13, 14 and 15, Block 36, Central Park No. 2.
The sale price was $600.00 and a deposit has been
made in the amount of 60:00. They wish to pay
the balance at the rate of $10.00 each month at
6/ interest. 11
2) "Mr. V. Palomar purchased Lots 16 and 17,
Block 1, Resub of Lot 16, W. W. & M. Sub. Sale
Price $250.00. He made a deposit of $25.00 and
wishes to pay the balance at the rate of $10.00
per month with interest at 6%.
Does this meet with your approval?"
3) "On April 8, 1940, L. M. Covey purchased Lot 12,
Block 3, West Redwood, for the sum of $250.00, paying
a deposit of $62.50. He wishes to pay the balance at
the rate of $8.00 per month with interest at 6%.
Does this agreement meet with your approval?"
Upon discussion, it was decided to approve the sale to V. Palomar and
L. M. Covey, but it was considered inadvisable to approve the sale to
Martin and Marie Stuefloten because it would take 4a years to pay the
balance of $540 at $10 a month. So, on motion of Councilman McCarthy,
seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Palomar and Covey sales were approv-
ed and the Stuefloten sale was also approved with the proviso that the
monthly payment be made $20 instead of $10.
133
