McNulty were thereby elected councilmen, and <br />the City Clerk is hereby authorized to sign and deliver to said Floyd D. <br />Granger, William M. Werder, Henry W. Edmonds, and George W., McNulty a <br />Certificate of Election and to administer to each of said persons the <br />Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California. <br />8.,That more than fifty per cent (500) of all of the votes cast <br />at said general municipal election on said proposed charter amendments <br />and questions were in favor thereof and all of said proposed charter <br />amendments and questions carried. <br />That the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City be and he is hereby <br />i instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of this City Council <br />as a statement of the result of said election.' <br />I <br />i <br />0 <br />Prior to closing, Mayor Christensen, Councilmen Hohn, McCarthy, and Jones <br />praised the work of the council and expressed their appreciation of the <br />cooperation which had existed among the members of the council and wish- <br />ed the new councilmen all success in their work. <br />On motion of Councilman Hohn, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the council <br />adjourned sine die. p'a w% ,j <br />NEW COUNCIL <br />MINUTES•OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 15, 1944 <br />9:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: H. F. Anderson, <br />L. C. Christensen, H. W. Edmonds, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, <br />1. G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, and City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />Following roll call, the city clerk called for nominations for chairman. <br />Councilman McNulty, in a laudatory speech, nominated Harold F. Anderson <br />for chairman and Mayor of Redwood City. Upon motion to close the nom- <br />inations, Councilman Anderson was unanimously chosen to serve as chair- <br />man of the council and Mayor. Mayor Anderson began by outling items <br />that might be, and quite likely would be, incorporated in the 1940-41 <br />budget and emphasized, for the information of the audience, the diffic- <br />ulty of doing the many things asked of a council without increasing the <br />amount of tax correspondingly. Mayor Anderson then introduced the recent- <br />ly elected Councilmen, Granger, Werder, Edmonds, and McNulty. <br />n <br />
