1'72 <br />R. F. Martin, owner of the Redwood City Bus Line, asked for a renewal of the <br />agreement with the City of Redwood City for the operation of this bus. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Edmonds, it was <br />decided to grant the request and the matter was referred to the City <br />Attorney to work up the proper wording of the agreement. <br />The City Manager submitted a reply from the Southern Pacific Company concern- <br />ing the fence directly opposite from the railway station in which was <br />stated, "Agree with you that fence in question is not in as good con- <br />dition as might be desired. Planning to replace it in near future with <br />more satisfactory type of fence." The City Manager was asked to follow <br />up the matter that it be not dropped at this stage. <br />A letter was received from the Redwood City Commuters Club suggesting that a <br />member from that club be appointed on the City Planning Commission. Letter <br />ordered filed. <br />The City Tax Collector submitted the following letter: <br />"On March 19, 1940, City Manager C L Dimmitt recommended that <br />the sum of $126.01 be accepted in settlement of the charges <br />on the following property instead of $145.01 actually due if. <br />the total amount was paid in full. . <br />The property referred to is Arb. Block 240, Lot 7J -7K or legal <br />description Lots 96, 97 Block 5, Redwood Oaks, Located on <br />Regent Street off of Redwood Avenue, property assessed to P. E. <br />Crowne & Wife. <br />Delinquent Taxes 16.04 <br />Delinquent J-14 105 .17 <br />Tax Penalty 4.80 <br />Bond Penalty 19.00 0145-01 <br />A check has been received in the amount of $126.01. Please <br />confirm the above authorization." <br />Authorization granted on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Council- <br />man Christensen. <br />There was submitted a letter from the Chamber of Commerce recommending that the <br />City Council pay from the city Advertising Fund miscellaneous items and <br />also recommending "the customary booth expense of $50 be paid to the County <br />Fiesta." Payments were authorized on motion of Councilman Christensen, <br />seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />The matter of working out revised business licenses was continued until the next <br />meeting on motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />Request had been made by the Manager of Mission Trails Association that Redwood <br />City permit the use of one of its "Mission Bells" at the San Francisco <br />Exposition.
