<br />The Clerk reported and submitted statements from the State Employees' Retire-
<br />ment System, giving the figures of the actuaries on the approximate cost
<br />i
<br />to the City of installing the system. The reports were ordered filed and
<br />the matter continued until the next regular meeting.
<br />In connection with Resolution of Intention 1940-1, there was submitted and
<br />ordered filed affidavit of City Clerk as to the posting of notice inviting
<br />sealed proposals for making the improvement, as well as affidavit of the
<br />Tribune for the publication of the same. Following this, bids for doing
<br />the work were opened with the following results:
<br />1) Ferioli and Bettini, 957 University Drive, Menlo Park, bid
<br />20.75 Cents per square foot for all cement concrete sidewalks
<br />complete. Bid accompanied by certified check for $3,000.
<br />2) Peter Sorensen, 919 Arguello Street, Redwood City, bid 171 Cents
<br />per square foot for all cement concrete sidewalks complete. Bid
<br />accompanied by Bidder's Bond for $3,000.
<br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, proposed the adop-
<br />tion of the following resolution. Carried.
