would investigate and make a report to the Council at an adjourned meet- <br />ing at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20. <br />The City Tax Collector asked approval of an offer of P. Ordozzo to purchase <br />the E.z of Lot 6, Block 5, New High School Acres, for $400, paying a <br />deposit of $40 and the balance at $15 a month with interest at 6�, the <br />reason being that it would take two years to complete payment. On motion <br />of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen, it was decided <br />to accept the offer, with Councilman Edmonds voting "No" <br />In this connection, however, on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by <br />Councilman Werder, it was decided that all future requests for payments <br />extending more than one year should be referred to the Real Estate Com- <br />mittee. <br />It was decided, on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christ- <br />ensen, to defer until the next regular meeting consideration of House <br />Resolution No. 14, State of California., pertaining to preservation of <br />scrap iron. <br />There was submitted a letter from the State Railroad Commission setting the <br />time of hearing for any complaints against the Pacific Gas and Electric <br />Company relative to electric or gas service. No action was taken. <br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, proposed adoption of <br />the following resolution. Carried.. <br />"RE -SOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the fol- <br />lowing streets be declared Streets of Major Importance in said City: <br />HOPKINS AVENUE, from the southwesterly City limits to its inter- <br />section with Broadway. <br />THE ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS, from Whipple Avenue to Hopkins Avenue. <br />BROADWAY, from Hopkins Avenue to Arguello Street, and from Middle- <br />field Road to Chestnut Street. <br />CHESTNUT STREET, from Broadway to.the Bayshore Highway, State High- <br />way Route 68. <br />JEFFERSON AVENUE, from Valota Road to the Bayshore Highway, State <br />Highway Route 68. <br />HARBOR BOULEVARD, from State Highway Route 68 to its intersection <br />with the northerly City limit line at the Portland Cement Concrete Com- <br />pany property." <br />In connection with the business license revision, Mayor Anderson commented on <br />the illness of Councilman Fletcher and decided it would be best, in the <br />circumstances, to appoint someone else as chairman. He, therefore, asked <br />Councilman Granger to take over the chairmanship of this committee. <br />Further discussion was continued, on motion of Councilman Christensen, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger, until the next regular meeting. <br />I <br />
