V3 <br />q <br />The City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for this proposed <br />3 - <br />work, whereupon Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, <br />proposed the adoption of the following resolution. Carried. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS <br />AND MAP OR PLAT OF PROPOSED ASSESSI4ENT DISTRICT NO. 1940-4. <br />"RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, County of <br />San Mateo, State of California, that the plans, profiles, detailed draw- <br />ings and specifications for doing the following work and making -the fol- <br />lowing improvements in the City of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />That Lexington Avenue from the end of the existing macadam pavement <br />near the south termination of Arch Street to the end of the existing <br />macadam pavement near the center line of Clinton Street, including the <br />termination of Arch Street and Birch Street with said Lexington Avenue <br />and also the termination of said Lexington Avenue with Clinton Street <br />be improved as follows, to -wit: <br />That aforesaid Lexington Avenue and intersections and terminations <br />i or portions thereof be graded for its full width and for the length men- <br />tioned herein and described, and by having constructed on both sides of <br />said Avenue and intersections and terminations or portions thereof, com- <br />bined cement concrete curbs and gutters, and by constructing between said <br />j combined curbs and gutters a four inch (411) stabilized slurry base pavement <br />with an asphaltic armor coat wearing surface; that two (2) hydraulic cement <br />reinforced concrete storm water drop inlet catch basins with cast iron <br />frames and gratings be constructed one on each side of Lexington Avenue <br />near the termination of Arch Street, said two (2) drop inlet catch basins <br />to be connected to a circular twelve inch (1211) corrugated 'iron pipe drain <br />sixty (6o) feet in length. <br />These is however, excepted from the above described area to be im- <br />proved with a four inch (411) stabilized slurry base pavement with an asphal- <br />tic armor coat wearing surface, all that portion of said Lexington Avenue <br />lying between Arch Street and Birch Street which is noir improved with a <br />bituminous macadam pavement, and there is also excepted from grading work <br />hereinbefore described those portions now improved with cement concrete <br />sidewalks, as prepared by C. L. Dimmitt, City Engineer of said City of <br />Redwood City and submitted this 17th day of June, 1940, be and the same <br />are hereby adopted as and for the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and <br />specifications for said work and improvements described herein. <br />AND WHEREAS, said City Engineer has submitted and filed with said <br />plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications, a map or plat show- <br />ing the assessment district of lands benefited by the work and improve- <br />ments herein described, which map or plat is entitled "MAP SHOWING ASSESS- <br />MENT DISTRICT UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1940-411. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City that the map or plat showing the assessment district benefited <br />by the work and improvements herei*escribed, which map or plat is entitled <br />OMAP SHOWING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1940-411 <br />be and the same is hereby adopted and approved and said Council does hereby <br />determine and declare that the foregoing described work and improvements <br />are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and <br />benefit the lands and district shorn on the hereinbefore mentioned map or <br />plat, which district described and shown on said hereinbefore mentioned <br />map or plat said Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by <br />said work and improvements; and said Council further determines and declares <br />d <br />that the entire costs and expenses of said work and improvements shall be <br />assessed upon said lands and district shown on said map or plat herein men- <br />. <br />tioned, which district is within the limits of the City of Redwood City, <br />County of San Mateo, State of California. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the width of Lexington Avenue from the <br />i <br />end of the existing macadam pavement near the south termination of Arch <br />Street to the end of the existing macadam pavement near the center line of <br />Clinton Street hereinbefore mentioned, and the width of the roadways there- <br />of and the width of the sidewalks thereof are to be and are as shown on <br />the plans, profiles and detailed drawings adopted by this resolution. <br />7 <br />i` <br />r' <br />If' <br />1, <br />ik <br />z <br />
