The hourly wage rate prescribed hereinabove is the per diem rate <br />divided by the aforementioned number of hours constituting a working <br />day. <br />The above schedule of wages rates is the general prevailing rate <br />of per diem wages for work of a similar character in the locality in <br />which the work described above is to be performed. <br />Rates for legal holidays, Saturdays and Sundays shall be double the <br />hereinbefore described rates. Holidays falling on Sunday shall be ob- <br />served on the following Monday. <br />Holidays: New Year's Day; Memoral Day; Independence Day, Labor Day; <br />Admission Day; Armistice Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day. No work <br />to be done on Labor Day except to preserve life and property." <br />The City Manager reported that he had written General Properties, Inc., con- <br />cerning sidewalks along Hamilton and Theatre Streets, but that no reply <br />had been received. No action taken. <br />Cal. Bunyard appeared before the Council to ask that a dance permit be given <br />him for his place on Woodside Road. After considerable discussion, on <br />motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, dance <br />permits for Saturday nights were granted, revocable, however, at the <br />pleasure of the Council. <br />Nick Fabbro discussed at some length the condition of the buildings at Arguello <br />and Fuller. He appeared because the Building Inspector had indicated that <br />cthe buildings in the present condition were not living up to the terms <br />ti <br />of the ordinance. It developed, however, that if one of these buildings <br />were removed, the condition would be satisfactory, and it was so decided <br />on motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Werder, provided <br />that this particular building be removed within sixty days. <br />In connection with the building at the Southwest corner of Walnut and Bradford <br />Streets, there was filed affidavit of Building Inspector that he had duly <br />posted a notice on the property and also had mailed a notice to the owner <br />of the property. After being duly sworn in, the Building Inspector was <br />examined by the City Attorney concerning the condition of the buildings <br />and the Building Inspector's familiarity with the conditions. Having <br />heard the testimony of the Building Inspector, Councilman Edmonds, second- <br />ed by Councilman Christensen, proposed adoption of the following resolution, <br />which carried. <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that whereas <br />L. M. DUNCAN, the Building Inspector of the said City of Redwood City, <br />did, as required by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisance <br />upon the hereinafter described real property and did send a copy of said <br />notice, so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid, to the owners <br />of said hereinafter described real property, as said owners are listed <br />upon the books of the City Assessor of said City of Redwood City; and <br />0 <br />
