<br />Whereas, in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4 and
<br />the notices of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid, said Council
<br />of the City of Redwood City fixed Monday, the 15th day of July, 1940,
<br />at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chamber
<br />of the Council of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall on Middle-
<br />field Road in said. city, As the day, hour and place when and where
<br />any and all persons having; any objections to the proposed work and
<br />improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4,
<br />or to the grades at which said work and improvements are to be done
<br />and made, or to the district to be assessed for said work and im-
<br />provements, could appear before said Council and show cause trhy said
<br />proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done in
<br />accordance with said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4, or why said
<br />j work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades
<br />as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings referred to in
<br />said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4 and now on file in the office
<br />of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place aforesaid, when and where
<br />any and all persons having; any objections to said work and improve-
<br />ments described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4, or having
<br />any objections to the proposed grades at which said work and improve-
<br />ments are to be done and made, or having any objections to the pro -
<br />nosed district to be assessed for said work and improvements, could
<br />appear before said Council of the City of Redwood City and show cause
<br />why said work and improvements should not be carried out and done in
<br />accordance with Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4, or why said pro -
<br />nosed work and improvements should not be carried out and done at
<br />the proposed grades as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed
<br />dr.Ai.!in.-e referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4 and -
<br />now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood. City,
<br />or why said work and improvements should not be assessed against the
<br />district described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-4, by
<br />map referred to therein, which map was approved by the Council of
<br />the City of Redwood City on the 17th day of June, 1940, certain per-
<br />sons appeared- and made written objection to said work and improve-
<br />ments described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-i., or to the
<br />extent of the district to be assessed therefor; and
<br />WHEREAS, said Council did proceed to hear .and pass upon said
<br />written protests and did resolve and determine that said protests
<br />were not made by one-half of the owners of the property assessed for
<br />said work and improvements and said Council did overrule each and
<br />all of said protests and said Council having acquired Jurisdiction
<br />to order said work and improvements:
<br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience
<br />require the trork and improvements herein described, and the Council
<br />of the City of Redwood City hereby orders the following work to be
