<br />The City of Redwood City will contribute from Ito general fund
<br />the sum of $54o.00 towards the costs and expenses of the work and
<br />improvements ordered by this Resolution of Intention.
<br />The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and dir-
<br />ected to post a notice of said work and improvements, together with
<br />plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications,therefor, con-
<br />spicuously for five days on or near the Council Chamber door of the
<br />Council of said City of Redwood City inviting sealed proposals or
<br />bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein.
<br />Said City Clerk is also ordered and directed to publish a notice
<br />inviting such sealed proposals or bids and referring to the plans,
<br />profiles, detailed drawings and specifications posted or on file
<br />for the period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily
<br />(except Sunday) newspaper of general circulation published, printed
<br />and circulated in the City of Redwood. City, and hereby designated
<br />for that purpose by the Council of said city.
<br />It is further ordered that said sealed proposals or bids be
<br />publicly opened, examined and declared by the Council of said City
<br />of Redwood City at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday, the 5th
<br />day of August, 1940, and all bids must be filed with the Clerk of
<br />the Council of the City of Redwood City on or before such date and
<br />hour."
<br />In connection with improvement work No. 1940-3, there was filed affidavits
<br />of posting notices, and publication. No protests were registered.
<br />It was decided, therefore, to go ahead with the work, and Councilman
<br />Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption of the
<br />following resolution. Carried.
<br />°RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK NO. 10140-3"
<br />°RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City
<br />did, on the 17th day of June, 1940, pas: and adopt Resolution of In-
<br />tention No. 1940-3 to order the hereinafter described work to be done
<br />and improvements to be made in said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention
<br />No. 1940-3, headed °NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT°, were duly and regularly
<br />posted along, the line of said contemplated work and improvements and
<br />in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, .and on
<br />all of the streets in the district to be assessed therefor, in time,
<br />form, manner and number as required by law, as appears from the affi-
<br />davits of C. L. Dimmitt, Superintendent of Streets of the City of Red-
<br />wood City, and H. L. Winter, Charlie White and Tom Stafford, and now
<br />on file in the office of the Clerk of said city; and
<br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavits of said C. L. Dimmitt and
<br />H. L. Winter, Charlie White and Tom Stafford, hereinbefore referred to
<br />herein, that the posting of said notices of improvement as aforesaid was
<br />.completed on the 27th day of June, 1940; and
<br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavit of Bernice Gardner that
<br />said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3 was duly and regularly published
<br />in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper publish-
<br />ed, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3 and the
<br />notices of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid, said Council of the
<br />City of Redwood City fixed Monday, the 15th day of July, 1940, at the
<br />hour of 5:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chamber of the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall on Middlefield Road'
<br />in said city, as the day, hour and place when and where any and all per-
<br />sons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements describ=
<br />ed in said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3, or to the grades at which
<br />said work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the district
<br />to be assessed for said work and improvements, could appear before said
<br />Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvements should
