224 <br />It was ordered that the Auditor's report be placed on the agenda for the <br />October 7 meeting. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen, claims <br />numbered 6694 to 6750, with the exception of claim number 6729, were <br />ordered paid. <br />On motion duly made and seconded, the Council adjourned out of respect to <br />the memory of the late Charles White who had been a city employee <br />for a number of years. <br />EAF:HAS <br />1 <br />E. A. letcher, Clerk pro tem <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 7, 1940 <br />8:00 P . 1-1. <br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: L. C. Christensen, <br />H. W. Edmonds, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. <br />Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson. Absent: City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />Upon motion of Coun611man Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, and <br />carried, Councilman Edmonds was elected Clerk pro tem. <br />The minutes of the meeting of September 3, 1940, were approved on motion of <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Representative of the Woodside Gardens Association appeared before the <br />Council and requested that the city contribute some money for cash <br />prizes for their chrysanthemum show to be held in November. On motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried, <br />the sum of $25 was authorized. <br />Letter received from the Chamber of Commerce requesting the city authorize <br />the sum of :215 to be paid from the advertising fund to assist in the <br />purchase of street flag decorations for Christmas, July 4th, and <br />similar celebrations. Upon motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman Christensen, and carried, such authorization was made. <br />The following communcation was received from Firs.
