251 <br />n <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 16, 1940 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />it <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />H. W. Edmonds, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. <br />Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of December 2, 1940, were, on motion of <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen, approved as <br />mailed. <br />Mayor Anderson announced that at the regular meeting of December 2, 1940, <br />the Council had appointed Robert Littler, Thomas W. Cutting,and Earle F. <br />Clegg members of the Board of Review and after explaining briefly the <br />duties and powers of the Board, the oath of office was administered <br />to the appointees. <br />At the regular meeting of the City Council, held on December 2, 1940, Louis <br />Jenkins, Jr. was appointed a member of the Board of Library Trustees, <br />for the unexpired term of the late 0. K. Whittenberg. The oath of office <br />was thereupon administered to Mr. Jenkins. <br />The oaths of office of the Board of Review and the member of the Board of <br />Library Trustees were ordered filed on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried. <br />l� There was read a letter from H. C. Munson requesting the Council to authorize <br />the City Collector to release two lots in the Reese Tract (one lot facing <br />Redwood Avenue and one in the rear) upon payment of $200. At the regular <br />meeting on November 18, 1940, the City Council concurred in the recom- <br />mendation of the Planning Commission that "for the release of remaining <br />lots fronting on Redwood Avenue, at least two lots in rear should be com- <br />bined with one lot fronting on Redwood Avenue"; and on motion of Council- <br />man Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, and carried, the matter was <br />referred to the Real Estate Committee of the Council.- ll <br />A letter from the Redwood City Sportsmen's Club, Inc. requesting permission to <br />use the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Thursday night, December 19, <br />1940, was read. On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded -by Councilman <br />Fletcher, permission was granted. <br />A letter from the Board of Trustees of the First Congregational Church recom- <br />mending that the former police station on Jefferson Avenue, now used as a ' <br />meeting place for Boy Scouts and similar organizations for youth, be re- <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />
