24"x. <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that whereas <br />said city is the owner of an easement or right of way for all public <br />purposes and public utility purposes over and across the following <br />described property in the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, <br />State of California, to -wit: <br />The northwesterly 41.0 feet of Lot 13 as said lot is shown on that <br />certain map entitled "Wooster, Whitton & Montgomery Subdivision, of a <br />Part of the Redwood Farm, filed July 9, 1902 in Book E of Maps at page 3. <br />Records of San Mateo County, State of California, lying southerly of the <br />City and County of San Francisco's Hetch-Hetchy right of way. <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />that said City of Redwood City hereby declares said above described <br />property to be needed by said city for street purposes and hereby dedi- <br />cates said property for street purposes to be and become a portion of <br />Vera Avenue in said City of Redwood City." <br />The City Manager, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty, and carried, was authorized to sign an agreement modifying the <br />original agreement for purchase of the O'Dea property and to execute an <br />agreement in connection with sale of a portion of said O'Dea property to <br />the County of San Mateo. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried, <br />the City Manager was authorized to settle any claim for damages to the <br />automobile of John E. Walters resulting from damage caused by low branches <br />of trees on Heller Street. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried, <br />Mayor Anderson was authorized to turn over to the City Manager the official <br />bond and oath of office of the City Clerk to be Piled, together with the <br />official bonds of.the City Treasurer and City Auditor, in the safe deposit <br />box of the City at the Bank of America, Redwood City Branch. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher,, and ,carried, <br />a contribution in the amount of $15 was authorized to the San Mateo County <br />Tuberculosis and Health Association. <br />Councilman Granger brought up the subject of flood control. Discussion ensued, <br />but no action was taken. <br />Councilmen E.A. Fletcher and W. M: Werder were appointed by the Mayor to act <br />as an insurance committee. <br />F. F. Vanderborden spoke about the chickens and turkeys adjoining his property <br />in the vicinity of Jefferson Avenue and Myrtle Street. It was suggested <br />that Mr. Vanderborden be present at the next meeting of the Council when <br />the proposed ordinance regulating such matters'would be considered. <br />Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />Approved claims aggregating $16,012.46 were ordered paid, subject however to <br />correction in 'the amount of claim #7904; McElroy Lumber Company; on motion <br />of Councilman McNulty,' seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried. <br />Adjournment. <br />C.
