It was decided on motion <br />of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried, <br />that the Health Department be notified that its reports relating to this <br />property are at variance with observation of members of the City Council <br />who inspected the premises; that the premises be reinspected by Dr. Gans <br />personally, if possible, before the next meeting of the Council on <br />January 6, 1941, and that the Health Department arrange to have a represen- <br />tative present at'the January 6, 1941, and subsequent meetings,of the <br />Council. <br />In connection with condemnatl6n proceedings on old buildings, the City Manager <br />reported, in a letter addressed to the Council, that.the Health Department <br />advised the buildings in question would be satisfactorily cared for and, <br />therefore, it appeared unnecessary and inadvisable to institute proceed- <br />ings at this time. <br />The proposed ordinance regulating the keeping of goats, chickens, etc., was <br />discussed: A. E. Lukens, 1536 Oxford Avenue, President of the Northern <br />California Branch of the Rhode Island Red Club, addressed the Council and <br />expressed the opinion that the proposed ordinance may eliminate poultry <br />breeding. On motion -of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman <br />Werder, the City Manager and City Attorney were instructed to submit at <br />the next meeting a revised ordinance and a map showing the districts <br />covered by the revised ordinance. <br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption <br />of the following resolution. Carried by unanimous vote of the Council. <br />"RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING <br />BUDGET AND APPROVING FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL MEMORANDUM OF .AGREEMENT FOR <br />EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STREETS OF MAJOR <br />IMPORTANCE. <br />"WHEREAS, a first supplemental memorandum of agreement has been pre- <br />sented to be'entered into with the State of California in accordance with <br />a project statement for expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax for the fiscal <br />year 1941 allocated for streets of major importance other than State high- <br />ways in the City,of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the city council has heard read said agreement in full and <br />is familiar with the contents thereof; <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city -council of the City of Redwood <br />City that said project statement be and it is hereby adopted as the budget <br />of proposed expenditures of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for streets <br />of major importance other than State highways, and said agreement be and <br />the same is hereby approved and the City Manager is directed to sign the <br />same on behalf of said City, said agreement to be binding upon the City <br />upon its execution by the authorized officials of the State." <br />A letter from Edmund Scott reminding the Council of its intention to repeal the <br />section of the Business License Tax'Ordinance (Subdivision g0, Section 9) <br />0 <br />fl <br />A <br />
