<br />imposing a tax on cigarette vending machines, after said ordinance became
<br />effective, was read. City Attorney Mansfield stated he had contacted Mr.
<br />Scott, and it was agreed between them that the repeal of the,above sub-
<br />section would be taken up along with other sections of the .ordinance to
<br />be amended or repealed. On motion,of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by
<br />Councilman Edmonds and carried, the. City Manager was instructed to inform
<br />Mr..Scot.t that Subsection SO of the Ordinance could be considered in-
<br />operative until such time as was repealed.
<br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, a license
<br />was granted Maud Huesties to operate a restaurant at 939 Main Street pro-
<br />vided that the recommendations'indicated in the report of the Health Depart-
<br />ment are complied with.
<br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption
<br />of a resolution accepting a deed from Alma E. Clarke, a single woman, for
<br />property in Block 13, Oak Knoll Manor. Carried by unanimous vote.
<br />A resolution accepting from the California Pacific Title and Trust Company a
<br />five-foot storm water easement (Deed file No. 202) through Lot 4, Block 3,
<br />Map No. 1 of Broadway was adopted on motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded
<br />by Councilman McNulty, and carried by unanimous vote.
<br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried
<br />by unanimous vote of the council, a resolution was adopted accepting a
<br />deed, dated December 10, 1940, from A. McSweeney, Tax Collector of the
<br />County of San Mateo, for the following real property:
