272 <br />A representative of the Negro Elks Lodge stated they were desirous of purchasing <br />a lot from the City "at the northeast corner of Hemlock.and Locust Streets <br />and erecting a building thereon.• The Council informed the representative <br />to present this matter to the City Planning Commission and to obtain writ- <br />ten consent of the property owners within an area of 275 feet from the pro- <br />posed building. <br />Councilman Granger suggested the possibility of extending Maple Street through <br />to the Bayshore Highway, and that possibly gas tax funds could be used for <br />the paving of this new street. The matter was discussed, bUt no action was <br />taken. <br />City Manager Dimmitt explained in connection with the two-way radio that permis- <br />sion had been granted for reconsideration of the application and for placing <br />Redwood City in the same frequency as the city of Palo Alto. <br />Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />Approved claims aggregating $10,775.96 -were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Adjournment on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher'to <br />February 4, 1941, at 7:30 P.
