G <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 10, 19/1 <br />7:30 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present, Councilmen L. C. Christensen, E. A. <br />Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G.W. McNulty, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk <br />C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilmen H. W. Edmonds and W. M. Werder. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed the adoption of a <br />resolution accepting a deed from San Mateo County Title Company to a 20 foot <br />strip of land along Chestnut street to be used for the purpose of widening <br />said street, described as follows: <br />Beginning at the point where the northerly line of Broadway extended easterly <br />in a straight line intersects the easterly line of Chestnut Street; thence <br />along said easterly line of Chestnut Street north 290 i21 east 410.40 feet <br />to the southwesterly line of lands belonging to the City of Redwood City,, <br />and known`as the11Municipal Corporation YardTT; thence along said line of Red- <br />wood City lands south 600 481 east 20 feet; thence leaving said line and across <br />Lot 1 as shown on the TTMap of Subdivisions of Sweeny Ranch, near Redwood City, <br />San Mateo CountyTT, filed in the office of the Recorder of San Mateo County <br />June 24, 1898, in Book TIC" of Original Maps at Page 36, and parallel to the <br />said easterly line of Chestnut Street south 290 121 west 397.64 feet to a <br />point in the northerly line of Broadway extended easterly in a straight line: <br />thence along said 'easterly extension of the.northerly line of Broadway south <br />860 401' Z4V west 23' 72:.k'eet� to' the boint-bf .beginning. <br />Being a portion of aforesaid Lot 1 of Sweeny Ranch, and containing 0.18 acres <br />of land. <br />Permission was granted the Chamber of Commerce for use of the Council Chambers on <br />Monday afternoon, February 17, 1941, and Thursday evening, February 20, 1941, <br />on motion of, Councilman McNulty, seconded'by Councilman Fletcher and carried. <br />The City Manager was authorized tc arrange for use of the Council Chambers by the <br />Selective Service Board on a date to be determined, on motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Christensen and carried. <br />Councilman Werder entered the meeting. <br />Ordinance 450, "An Ordinance Calling a Special Election -An the City of Redwood <br />City for the Purpose of Submitting to the Electors of Said City Three Propo- <br />sitions of Incurring Bonded Indebtedness of Said City for the Acquisition, <br />G� <br />jT Construction and Completion of Each of the Following Municipal Improvements, <br />To -Wit: (1) Improvement of the Port, .(2) New Recreational Facilities, and <br />f (3) Improvement of Existing Recreational Facilities; Declaring the Estimated <br />Cost of Said Municipal Improvements, and Each Thereof, the Amount of the <br />Principal of'Said Indebtedness to be Incurred for Each Thereof, and the Maxi- <br />mum Rate of Interest to be Paid Thereon; Fixing the Date of Said Election, <br />the Manner of Holding the Same, Establishing Election Precincts and Polling <br />Places for Said Election and Appointing Boards of Election Therefor, and Pro- <br />viding for Notice Thereof," was adopted on motion of Oouncilman Fletcher, <br />( seconded by Councilman McNulty and on roll call, carried by unanimous vote of <br />the Councilmen present. <br />i, <br />Ad j ournment . /� q <br />Cr CSC/ �La�-y1 . <br />j' CWE:MM C.
