304 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 5, 1911 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Council- <br />man H. W. Edmonds. Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, <br />City Attorney Albert Mansfield, Chief of Police C. L. Collins, <br />Chief of Fire Department M. E. Ryan, Building Inspector L;. M. Diin- <br />can, and Health Department representative W. C. Smith. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of April 21, 19/1, were approved on <br />motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Paul A. McCarthy addressed the Council explaining the activities of the <br />San Mateo County Historical Association, and asked that the City <br />of Redwood City subscribe to a membership in the Association. On <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, it <br />was decided that the City take out a membership in the Association <br />and that the sum of $10 be included in the 19.1-42 budget to cover <br />dues for the calendar year 1941. <br />Norman Menifee, attorney for R. F. Martin, owner of the Redwood City Bus <br />Line, submitted a proposed franchise to operate a bus line in the <br />City of Redwood Pity. This matter was ordered continued until the <br />meeting to give the City Attorney and members of the Council oppor- <br />tunity to study the details of the proposed franchise. <br />The City Collector, on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Council- <br />man Fletcher, was authorized to execute a contract for sale of Lot 2, <br />Block 4, Lenolt, with Mrs. Cecilia M. Weiner for the sum of $40.00; <br />payable $45.00 down and the balance to be paid in 18 monthly install- <br />ments of $$22.50 each with interest at the rate of 6% per annum. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Werder, the City <br />Collector was authorized to execute a contract for sale of Lots 1 <br />and 2, Block 1, Resubdivision of Lots 23, 24, 25, ReeE(e Subdivision, <br />with Helen Haight, /+50 Redwood Avenue, for the sum of $$300.00, payable <br />$50.00 down and the balance to be paid in 2/i. monthly installments of <br />$10.00 each with interest at the rate of 6% per annum. <br />Request of the'Parks and Recreation Commission for authorization to spend <br />approximately $50.00 from the Special Recreation Fund for suitable <br />
