11 <br />1 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 21 1941 <br />8:oo P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen E. A. Fletcher, F. D. <br />Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F.'Anderson, and City <br />Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilmen L. C. Christensen and H. W. <br />Edmonds., Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City Attorney <br />Albert Mansfield, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, Chief of Police <br />C. L, Collins, Chief of Fire Department M. E. Ryan, Building Inspector <br />L. M. Duncan, Superintendent of Parks Roger Walsh,'and Health Depart- <br />ment representa.tive;W, E. Smith. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of May 19, 1911, were approved on motion <br />of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />The matter o�',a franchise for the bus line was ordered held over until the next <br />meeting when Mr. Menifee, attorney for the Redwood Gity Bus Company, <br />would be present to discuss proposed changes to the tentative franchise <br />submitted. <br />Due to absence of Councilman L. C. Christensen, Chairman of the Real Estate <br />Committee, the matter of the committee's report on F. H. A. appraisal <br />' valuations in Redwood City was held over until the next meeting. <br />The matter of taxes paid for support of the County Free Library was held <br />over until the next meeting as sufficient time had not elapsed for <br />publication. <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, offered for introduction <br />an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 451 (Animal and Fowl Ordinance). <br />In connection with the 'Climate Best by Government Test's sign, City Manager. <br />Dimmitt advised that the Standard oil Company had agreed to erection <br />of the sign on their property at Claremont and El. Camino Real. After <br />discussion and on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger, it was agreed to approve erection of the sign at the above <br />location, the definite site to be selected immediately following this <br />meeting. <br />City Manager,Dimmitt also reported he had not yet received a reply from the <br />Shell Oil Company regarding the location of a sign on their property <br />at Five Points. <br />This being the date set for opening of bids in connection with Roosevelt <br />Avenue sidewalks, Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2, the affidavit - <br />of City Clerk of posting notice inviting sealed proposals was ordered <br />Vljo- <br />
