r <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Werder, the oath of <br />office'of W. G. Frost as a member -of the Board of Review was accepted <br />and ordered filed. <br />(' On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, <br />Fat Boy Barbecue Cabixis, Ltd., was granted permission to construct a <br />way <br />drive/ over the sidewalk on Chestnut Street near El Camino Real in ex- <br />cess of the 40% of the street frontage limitation as required by ordinance. <br />Walter Maloney, representing Redwood City Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden <br />West, addressed the Council in connection with the flying of the Cali- <br />fornia Bear Flag from the flag pole at the City Hall, and pointed out <br />that state,law.provided this .flag should be flown from public' buildings <br />only. The City Manager was instructed to investigate this matter and to <br />j report at the next meeting. <br />Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Werder, proposed the adoption of <br />Ordinance No. 458, "An ordinance regulating parking and the method of <br />parking upon the streets'of the City of Redwood City". Unanimously <br />adopted on roll call vote of the councilmen present. <br />In connection with the proposed bus franchise, the City Attorney brought up <br />the matter of placing a value thereon similar to that provided in <br />franchises granted to the Pacific Gas and Electric.Co. The Council <br />Pelt that this matter should be given attention and directed the <br />City Clerk to notify R. F. Martin and his attorney, Norman S. Menifee, <br />that this would be discussed at the next meeting. <br />Councilman Christensen, seconded. by Councilman Werder, offered for intro- <br />duction an ordinance creating certain offices and positions in the <br />City of Redwood City and -fixing the compensation and salaries therefor. <br />Motion carried. <br />An ordinance creating and -establishing certain offices and positions in <br />the City of Redwood City and fixing the range of salary minimum and <br />maximum to be paid to such officers and employees was introduced on <br />motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />a <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded -by Councilman McNulty, proposed the adoption, <br />of a resolution accepting a deed from -San Mateo County Title Company <br />for -Unit 2 of the O'Dea property'as follows: <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the <br />hereunto annexed Grant Deed dated the 10th day of July, 1941, and made <br />between SAN MATEO COUNTY TITLE COMPANY, a corporation,. and CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation, of the State of California, <br />be and the same is hereby accepted by the City of Redwood City, and <br />.33 <br />
