i <br />n <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded,by.Qouncilman McNulty, the following <br />amendment to Section 3 of Rule VIII, Rules for Personnel Administration, <br />was adopted: <br />"A married woman shall be ineligible as an applicant except <br />under such terms and conditions as the City Council may approve." <br />"A woman employee who marries during her employment shall be <br />ineligible for further employment unless otherwise determined <br />by the City Council under such terms and conditions as they <br />may adopt." <br />?application by Arnold Krinsk, a disabled war veteran, for a permit to collect <br />junk in the City of Redwood City was, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger, ordered held over until the next meeting, <br />and the applicant directed to renew his application then and submit <br />satisfactory proof of disability. <br />The City Clerk was directed to inform the Boy�Sc of America.to communicate <br />with City Manager Dimmitt relative to their request for use of City <br />Trucks in connection with their old newspaper collection program to <br />be -held on October 25. <br />The City Collector -requested authorization to execute a contract with Elmer <br />Krist, 946 Myrite Street, San Jose, for sale of Lot 21, Block B, New <br />High School Acres,, for -the sum of 0600, payable $60.00 down and the <br />)/ balance to be paid in 24 monthly installments with interest at the <br />rate of 6% per annum. Authorization granted on motion of Councilman <br />Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Applications for dance permits by Veterans of Foreign Wars and United Federal <br />Workers of America to be held on October 25,and October 31, 1941, res. <br />pective'ly, were granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman,Christeneen. <br />Application of Philip and Ethel Caruso for restaurant license at 2732 Broadway <br />was approved subject to inspection by the Health Department, on motion <br />of.Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger. <br />Councilman Werder suggested that consideration be given to the installation <br />of arterial st2)y suns at the intersection of Rogers and Arguello Streets. <br />Councilman Granger brought up the following matters which we're referred to the <br />City Manager; raising of sidewalk in Native Daughters Park; removal of <br />dangerous tree on Whipple Road near Birch Street; inspection by the <br />Health Department of a house at the northwest corner of Redwood Avenue <br />and Va.lota Road. <br />N <br />
