lC City Attorney Mansfield read a complaint to be filed with the California State Railroad Commission relative to Rogers Street, Jefferson Avenue and Maple Street railroad crossings, and this matter was also ordered placed on.the agenda for the next meeting. The City Manager read a letter from Wayne E. Johnson, Executive Director, Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, confirming the telephone conversation during which he stated the City would, under the terms of the agreement with the Housing Authority, receive credit for demolition or repair of sub -standard buildings. In connection with the old building at 1712 Redwood Avenue, reports of the Building Inspector and Health Department were read and on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, the Building Inspector and City Attorney were instructed to start proceedings for abatement of same. The matter of oaths of office for City employees was ordered placed on the agenda for the next meeting. On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Chief of Police was requested to appoint members of the City Council and the City Manager deputy police officers for the duration.of the present emergency, to serve without compensation and to act only in event of actual emergency; it being understood that the above authority would cease in event of ter mination of office. City Collector Nelle L. MirAmontes advised that supplies necessary for licensing amusement devices would be available and licensing would commence within about a week. The following resolution was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty: "Councilman Fletcher offers the following resolution and moves its adoption, to -wit: WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Redwood Citycthere is to be held on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1942, a general municipal election in the City of Redwood City: NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby resolve and declare as follows, to -wit: A general municipal election shall be held in the City of Redwood City, as provided by the Charter of said City, on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1942, at which election there,shall be elected the following officers of said City of Redwood City, to -wit: Three (3) members of the Council of the City of Redwood City for the full term of four (4) years each.
