4P. 0 A letter from the Southern Pacific Co. relative to a fence recently con_ structed on their property at the southerly end of.Winslow Street was, after discussion and on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded 'by Councilman Christensen, ordered referred to the Redwood City Com- muters Club for any recommendation or suggestions that they may care to offer. Request of Frank A. DePatta for refund of taxes paid during the years 1940-41 and 1941-42 on Lots 1 and 2, Block 4, Jefferson Acres, in the amount of $19.91, was denied on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Council- man Fletcher. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, 'seconded by Councilman Werder, payment of the sum of $50.00 to San Mateo County Title Co. for grant deed to Lots 31 and 32, Block 6, Central Park, was approved. Recommendation of the Redwood City Planning Commission to divide Lot 3, Block 10, New High School Acres, into two parcels was approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen. In connection with the changing of the names of streets in Lenolt Subdi- vision, it was decided to continue the matter until the next meeting, and the City Manager was directed to submit recommendations for any other changes in street names in order that all changes may be in - eluded in one ordinance: Request of Headquarters Northern California Sector and VII Army Cornq for passage of an ordinance prohibiting drinking of intoxicating liquor on public streets and other public places *which was held over from the last meeting to determine what action may have been taken by adjoining cities was ordered filed; and the Clerk directed to reply, stating there did not appear to be any necessity for such an ordinance at this time. There was read a petition signed by 18 owners of property fronting on Claremont Avenue complaining about unsightly and objectionable con- ditions at Lot 17, Wellesley Park Subdivision No. 2. This matter was referred to the Chief of Police and, City Manager, and the Health De- partment directed to continue its efforts to contact the tenants. The matter of the proposed closing of stores was held over until the next meeting. U
