The matter was ordered dropped and the Clerk directed <br />to advise the Recreation Commission of the Council's action. <br />The City Manager was authorized on motion of Councilman Anderson seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher to provide necessary bicycle racks at the Southern <br />Pacific Depot. <br />Communication from Charles PI. Kirkbride, vice-president, San Mateo Mutual <br />Building -;.and Loan Association, relative to application filed for re- <br />zoning Block 1, Sweeney's Addition was ordered filed. <br />In connection with requests by United Spanish War Veterans and Redwood <br />City Post No. 105, The American Legion, for free permits to hold <br />carnival shows, there was read a letter from United Spanish War <br />Veterans withdrawing their request. Following, on motion of Council- <br />man Werder, seconded by Councilman Anderson request of The American <br />Legion was denied. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Britschgi offered for in- <br />troduction an ordinance establishing the time limits for parking <br />vehicles on ,publicly controlled parking lots. <br />City Attorney McCarthy reported judgement had been rendered against the <br />City in the Fleischman case requiring payment of the sum of approximately <br />$2,309.15 plus payments of $60.00 per month to Mrs. Fleischman for life <br />or until she re -marries. On motion of Councilman Anderson seconded by <br />Councilman Werder payment of the amount now due Mrs. Fleischman was <br />authorized. <br />Resolution authorizing C. L. Dimmitt, City Manager, to execute an agreement <br />with other San Mateo County cities for mutual fire protection was un- <br />animously adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher seconded by Council- <br />man Werder. <br />Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the <br />State of California relative to expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax for <br />the fiscal year 1943 was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman <br />McNulty seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Permit was granted Court Madrone No. 158 Foresters of America Hall Committee <br />to conduct a public dance on May 30, 1912 on motion of Councilman <br />Anderson seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />N <br />a <br />EJ - <br />
