Z. Anderson advising that he had requested <br />the Post Office Department to conduct an investigation relative <br />to request for establishing a classified post office station in <br />the vicinity of Braadway and E1 Camino Real was read and ordered <br />filed. <br />Complaint by Mrs. J. A. Biron, 148 Oxford Street about a house at <br />897 Redwood Avenue, owned by William Evans, 519 California Street, <br />San Francisco, California and report of the Building Inspector in- <br />dicating the building was substandard and in a state of disrepair <br />were read. Councilman Anderson seconded by Councilman McNulty <br />then offered a motion directing that (1) the owner of the build- <br />ing be notified to appear at the next meeting to show cause why <br />proceedings should not be started for abatement of same; (2) the <br />Health Department be requested to submit a report; (3) the Water <br />Department be notified to refuse service. Motion carried. <br />Request of Z. T. Thorning for waiver of penalties accrued on delinquent <br />taxes on lot 18, Valota Park was continued until the next meeting. <br />Request of Russell Bros. for permission to conduct a circus on June 2, <br />1942 was read and referred to the City Collector as no special <br />permit is required for this type of show. <br />In connection with public liability insurance coverage for local bus <br />lines the Insurance Committeets report indicated the limits should <br />be established at $10/50,000 but referred back to the Council the <br />question of whether or not Lloyds of London was an acceptable. <br />Following discussion, Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi offered a motion recommending that $10/50,000 public <br />liability insurance be carried by local bus lines. The motion <br />carried unanimously. Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi then moved that the matter of acceptable insurance <br />carriers be dropped. Motion carried, Councilman Fletcher voting <br />i <br />ifNo" . <br />Councilman Britschgi reported in connection with recommendation of the <br />Recreation Committee that the City purchase the old building <br />450 <br />
