464 <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 29, 1942 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, <br />E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />F. D. Granger. Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City <br />Attorney Paul A. McCarthy and Superintendent of Parks Roger Walsh. <br />Absent were Councilman H. F. Anderson and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham. <br />In the absence of City Clerk C. W. Eltringham, Paul A. McCarthy was <br />elected as acting City Clerk on motion of Councilman Werder, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Britschgi. <br />Communications: Re personnel. Letter from William K. Smith, Acting <br />Executive Officer of California State Personnel Board, re cooperative <br />onntract received, ordered filed and referred to City Manager Dimmitt, <br />and placed on agenda for next meeting. <br />C. M. Doxseets written declination to reappointment on Planning Commission <br />received. Declination accepted on motion of Councilman Britschgi, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />W. L. Hill's request for return of unexpended part of deposit of $35.00 <br />for rezoning a lot at Walnut, Stambaugh and Maple Streets granted <br />on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher; <br />referred to City Manager and City Treasurer. <br />Constructing and maintaining lijhts on the east side of E1 Camino Real <br />from the City Limits to the City of Atherton Limits, letter from <br />W..H. Augustus, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, with copy of <br />letter from County Engineer M. A. Grant; stating the impossibility <br />of getting priorities. Referred, on suggestion of Councilman Werder,, <br />to City Manager to confer with the County Engineer and to report to <br />the City Council at its next meeting. <br />Complaint against the Southern Pacific Company re better guards at cer- <br />tain railroad crossings; copy of letter from E. J. Foulds of the <br />Southern Pacific Company to Mr. Ward Hall of the California Rail - <br />Road Commission ordered filed and referred to City Manager and City <br />Attorney for a report at the next meeting on confc;rence therein <br />referred to. <br />War Damage Insurance. Report of J.H.D. Peters on cost ordered filed.
