On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Werder, resolution of award adopted as prepared by <br />City Attorney. <br />0 <br />Martin Bus Franchise proposing tariff changes in commutation ticket: <br />Discussion of request for approval of change from 14 rides with- <br />in 30 days to 14 rides within 15 days. Mr. Martin was directed <br />to file written application to be considered at the next meet- <br />ing. <br />Mr. Martin permitted temporarily to effectuate new rates. Tem- <br />porary changes in schedule to accomodate office force of National <br />Motor Bearing Company discussed by Mr. Martin and Mr. Owen Wright <br />of the National Motor Bearing Company; permission was granted for <br />immediate re -arrangement of bus schedules, subject to permanent <br />changed schedules when shop force is here. <br />The Junior Chamber of Commerce presented a request through Daniel <br />O'Connell. On motion of Councilman Fletcher seconded by Council- <br />man Werder it was resolved that $100.00 would be appropriated for <br />dues for Redwood City as a member of the Junior Chamber of Com- <br />merce for the coming fiscal year, upon condition that said sum <br />be used for publicity of the Junior Chamber, provided approgal <br />by the City Council be'had before any such expenditure. <br />Mr. McCann, Band leader, appeared and urged budget appropriation as <br />y requested. After full discussion and assurance by Mr. McCann <br />i <br />that the band will make approximately twenty-four public per- <br />( formances during the year, with appropriate rehearsals attended <br />by twenty -to thirty men, and that every effort will be made to <br />r have the band appear in Memorial Day services in 1943, the <br />Council on motion of Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman <br />t Fletcher resolved to recognize the propriety of including the <br />r <br />! band in the budget for 1942-43.
