U-47 <br />un <br />I,i <br />two lines of Section 1 thereof to read as follows ----- <br />"holder of any office or position of employment which is casual or <br />for casual part-time service only" on motion of Councilman Anderson <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi unanimously adopted on roll call <br />vote of the Councilmen present. <br />Civilian Defense ordinance was ordered placed on the Agenda for the next <br />meeting. <br />The City Manager was authorized to execute a contract with the State Per- <br />sonnel Board in connection with the preparation and grading of Civil <br />Service examination papers, on motion of Councilman Anderson seconded <br />by Councilman Werder. <br />The Building Inspector stated, in reply to inquiry about lack of sidewalks <br />in front of residences constructed by Frank De Patta at Myrtle and <br />Madison Streets, that final inspection had not been made on the.pro- <br />perty and that the installation of sidewalks would be required. <br />Planning Commission request for inclusion in the current yearts budget a <br />tax levy of V for a fund for permanent improvements was denied on <br />motion of Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman.Hilton. Follow- <br />ing this, the City Manager was directed to ascertain if it would be <br />possible to work out some plan whereby the City would have the benefit <br />of the services of the County Planning Commission. <br />Discussed and referred ,to the City Manager were the following: <br />1- Providing benches for band concerts. <br />2- Drainage at Harrison and Grand Streets. <br />3- Providing space at the Corporation Yard where <br />junk iron could be deposited. <br />Discussion was had relative to dis-satisfaction of a member of the police <br />department with working conditions and after expression by the Person- <br />nel Officer that certain personnel rules would not be applied in this <br />case it was the opinion of a majority of the Councilmen that the em- <br />ployee should return to work and request a hearing before the Board <br />of Review. <br />Permission was granted, without charge, for St. Peters' Episcopal Church <br />Social Club to hold a dance on July 24. 1942 on motion of Councilman <br />Britschgi seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />Restaurant license issued to June Bunyard, c/o Calls Place, 768 Woodside <br />Road was revoked on motion of Councilman Fletcher seconded by Council- <br />man Anderson:. ;Councilman Britschgi voted "no". <br />Approved Claims Nos. 1640 to 1700, inclusive, were ordered paid on motion <br />it <br />it <br />U13 <br />
