On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Council- <br />man Anderson, the Council in line with the recommendation of the <br />City Manager, instructed the City Treasurer not only to transfer <br />the $1,015.63 from the Bond Fund to the Port Fund, but also to <br />transfer $510.77 from the P. W. A. Fund to the Port Fund, thus <br />making up the Port Budget item of $1,526.40, and any balance of <br />P. W. A. money to be placed in the General Bond Fund. <br />The City Manager submitted the following letter: <br />"I respectfully recommend that the City Treasurer be <br />authorized to transfer any unexpended balance in <br />the funds provided for the construction of the City <br />Hall to General Fund, to be expended for the <br />planting and beautification of the grounds in <br />order that this pro3ect may be properly completed." <br />In this connection the City Treasurer explained that $905 had been <br />allowed by the P. W. A. auditors for interest during construction <br />and that this amount plus any unexpended balance in this P. W. A. <br />Fund should be put into the corresponding Bond Fund. However, <br />the Council concurred in the recommendation of the City Manager <br />that any monies remaining in this P. W. A. City Hall Fund be <br />placed in the General Fund for further development work at the <br />City Hall, and it was so ordered on motion of Councilman Anderson, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />The Chamber of Commerce submitted letter recommending that an expendi- <br />ture of not more than $15 from the City Advertising Fund be allowed <br />toward the expense of welcoming the oil tanker, 'Hawaiian Standard'. <br />The item was authorized on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded <br />by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed adoption of <br />resolution accepting deed from Nina Mero for Lot 11 in Block 12, <br />Central Park. Carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption <br />of resolution approving First Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement <br />for Expenditure of 1/4 Cent Gas Tax Allocated for State Highways. <br />Carried. <br />The City Clerk presented several resolutions pertaining to the covering <br />of the creek adopted by organizations in Redwood City, and on <br />motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />they were referred to the City Manager. <br />There was submitted to the Council copy of resolution adopted by the <br />Redwood City Local No. 1408, Carpenters Association, which read <br />
