66 1 <br />0 <br />as follows: <br />IfTo the Officers, and -Members of <br />Musicians -No. .6 <br />Greetings <br />At a meeting.held June 27, 1939, this Local passed <br />a protest regarding the action your Union took in the <br />matter of not alloying the Redwood City Municipal Bank <br />to play in the parade and at the dedication of our <br />public buildings In Redwood City.. <br />We consider this Band as part of our .City, as - <br />they are spons,pred, by the City Council and are strictly <br />a non-profit body. This Band, receives no,c6mpensation <br />for their.service; the members.play for their <br />pleasure. <br />We feel and know that your action has caused <br />refledtlon on. all the Unions in this city. Instead of <br />t has hurt it. <br />I <br />helping Unionism, I <br />Fraternally yours, <br />Chas. Beeson, Sectly. <br />On -motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by'douncilman Anderson, <br />the Cler1c was Asked -to write a letter to the Secretary of - the <br />Carpenter's Local to thank that organization for the 'stand- taken. <br />Mrs., John Hall of 629 Madison Avenue, together with two neighbors, ap- <br />peared before the Council to complain about a swarm or swarms of <br />bees owned 'by the occupant of 712' Fulton Street who keeps the bee's <br />on 6 commercial basis. Mrs. Hall submitted letters showing that <br />when bees sting quite young children they were quite serious and <br />even at time.s fatal.. It was explained to Mrs. Hall that no <br />ordinance covers the situation, but that at the next meeting the <br />owner of the bees would be asked to be present 'to show cause why <br />the nuisance created, by these bees should not be abated, The <br />City Attorney was asked to prepare thenecessary papers.. <br />C. B.Xish called the Councill's attention to the fact that the ordinance <br />concerning the building of sidewalks had not been lived up, to. <br />However., he was informed by the Building Inspector that the matter <br />was being followed up and that the property owners, had: promised <br />to comply* <br />M.. 0. Ingraham, a build6r and also an official in the Baptist Church; <br />asked permission to erect a temporary structurd on the property <br />of the'ahurch until such time as arrangements could be made to <br />put up a perimanent structure. The matter was laid over until the <br />next :meeting. <br />There was read a letter f . rom the Kiwanis Club endorsing the work of the <br />Sari Fran''61sco, Penin'sulal Inc. which ,letter wa s f'ordered til66's <br />
