E <br />submitted statements signed by residents indicating- that the presence <br />of Homing Pigeons IgeQns did not cause them inconvenience or bother and <br />that they had,no fault to find with the <br />he operation or maintenance of <br />the part,icu.lar pigeon loft to which they referred. Although the <br />matter was discussed by different members of the, Council, no action <br />was taken. <br />Louis Demattois came before the Council to request that Cedar Street be <br />extended through to Hilton Street. After some discussion as to <br />the advisability of extending Cedar or Beech Street to Hilton, the <br />matter was,reforred, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, tothe City Attorney, City Manager, and Council- <br />man Anderson to investigate and, -report. <br />C. W. Diel, repres'enting the Amer ican Legion, asked the Council,to ap- <br />prove a sketch representing a plaque vrich the Legionplanned to, <br />place In. the- Library.. It was explained that the sketch hadalready <br />been approved by Architect James LH. Mitchell' and the Board,,, of <br />Trustees of -the Library. The, plan was accordingly given Council <br />approval on motion.of Councilman Anderson, seconded byCouncilman <br />Fletcher:i <br />AM1r. Evans, manufacturing and selling awnings, asked what license he <br />vrould have 'to pay if he did not have a place of business in Redwood. <br />City. It was agreed that inasmuch as the local `company was, paying, <br />1 <br />'P6 a quarter: that it would be fair to, ask, Mr. Evans :to 'pay the same <br />amount, and it rias so ordered on motion,of' Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Counoilman McNulty.. <br />Application of Leo Rossi *for restaurant -permit, 101 El Camino Real, <br />granted on motion oP-Councilman'MdCarthy,_ seconded by Councilman <br />MCWult Y. <br />The City Manager submitted letter' from the' County Sanitary , Inspector <br />volunteering to have all food -handling and similar'manilfacturing <br />establishments inspected and classified do'coring 'to the c6unty.regu- <br />lations. It was thought desirable to have such insuection of city <br />stores, and on motion--of-,Councilman McCarthy., seconded by Councilman <br />Hohn, it was decided that in the future all applications for <br />restaurant lidesde! i�tould be referred to the county inspector for <br />his approval. <br />On 'Motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Redwood <br />City Lodge No. 1112, Loyal,Order of Moospi., Was given a restaurant <br />.license for 826 Arguello Street. <br />
