MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 7; 1943 <br />8:00 P. 14. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong, <br />E. A. Fletcher, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />Also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, City Attorney P. A. McCarthy, Police <br />Chief C. L. Collins, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Superintendent of Streets <br />H. L. Winter, City Collector N. L. Miramontes. Absent Councilmen C. A. Britschgi., <br />and W. W. Hilton. <br />Minutes of meeting of August 16th mere approved on motion of Councilman Armstrong, <br />seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Application for dance permit for Saturdays, September 11th and 15th, received from <br />Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A., allowed on motion of Councilman McNulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Application received for dance permit for September 1st, 8th and 15th, from Eldon <br />A1geo. Allowed on motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher. <br />Communication received from Traffic Study Committee recommending that parking on E1. <br />Camino Real between Hemlock and Center Streets remain as at present. The <br />Committee believes there is enough parking space for the business houses in that <br />block. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />Committee's recommendation approved. <br />Communication received from Mr. Frank DePatta, Chairman, Redwood City Salvage Committee, <br />enclosing check in amount of $22.86 covering tin -can pickup .for the month of <br />July. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, letter <br />was referred to the War Council and Clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt <br />of check. v <br />Communication received from Mr. 0. G. Uhlenberg, C. P. A., advising the Council that <br />regular annual report would be completed about September 15th. On motion of <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, communication was ordered <br />filed. <br />The .name of A. A. McGovern was recommended by the Junior Chamber of Commerce as a <br />member of the Traffic Study Committee. This suggestion was substantiated by <br />Mayor Granger and approved on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Council- <br />man Armstrong. <br />Communication received from Frank W. Thompson, 2069 Broadway recommending the removal <br />of shoe --shining shack next to his place of business. On motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, City Attorney and City Building <br />Inspector were instructed to.take steps to abate the nuisance. Councilman <br />Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that City Attorney attempt to <br />have property owner build a fence from the end of the signboard to the building <br />to improve the appearance of this location. <br />Communication received from James O'Gara, Jr., expressing the appreciation of <br />residents on Circle Road for certain improvements made in the street was ordered <br />filed, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />0 <br />0 <br />I <br />s <br />�1 <br />
