M <br />6 <br />P <br />Councilman Anderson offered resolution, seconded by Councilman McNulty, confirming the <br />change of the name of the Redwood City Defense Council to the Redwood City War <br />Council. Motion carried on roll calf.. <br />Communicatior read from Community Chest requesting that two members of the Council be <br />' appointed to serve on committee arranging for entertainment and.dance to open the <br />Community Chest Drive. Mayor Granger appointed Councilman Armstrong, and <br />Councilman Britschgi, Clerk being `instructed to notify Community Chest of the <br />appointments. <br />Councilman Britschgi offered resolution, seconded by Councilman Anderson, ordering <br />improvement of Brewster Avenue between Bayshore Highway and Chilton Street, <br />fixing the minimum compensation to be paid for labor and calling for bids. <br />carried on unanimous roll call. <br />Motiom <br />Resolution offered by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Bristchgi, adopting <br />plans, profiles and specifications for improvement of Brewster Avenue between <br />Bayshore Highway and Chilton Street. <br />Councilman Hilton offered resolution, seconded by Councilman Anderson, ordering <br />drainage improvement of Redwood Creek fixing the minimum compensation to be paid <br />for labor to be performed thereon and calling for bids. Carried unanimously on <br />roll call. <br />Councilman Britschgi offered resolution, seconded by Councilman Armstrong,'adopting <br />plans, profiles and specifications for drainage improvement of Redwoo d Creek. <br />Carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Armstrong requested information regarding plans to carry into effect the <br />traffic ordinance controlling traffic around the Southern Pacific Depot. He was <br />advised that signs had not yet been received but same were expected in a few days <br />at which time the Police Department would enforce the ordinance. <br />In answer to Mr. Armstrong's inquiry, Chief Collins advised that to date very little <br />results have been noted'in enforcing curfew ordinance. Some minors have been <br />warned, but few have been arrested to date. <br />Mayor Granger read resolution in memory of Mir. Joseph J. Hahir, former Councilman of <br />the City of Redwood City, who passed away recently. Resolution offered by <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Hilton and carried unanimously on <br />roll call. <br />Claims No. 2979 to 30+3, inclusive, totaling $20,759.21, approved for payment on <br />of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. <br />Adjournment. <br />B <br />IrAA-- . <br />R.
