�J <br />Committee with the view of cutting down the speed, particularly along Jefferson <br />Avenue and Hopkins Avenue. <br />Councilman Fletcher brought up the matter of double parking on Broadway between E1 <br />Camino Real and California Street. He suggested that the Police Department <br />check into the matter. City Manager Mead will check and report at -next meeting. <br />Mayor Granger asked City Manager Mead to report on matter of bicycle racks. City <br />Manager Mead stated there had been some difficulty in getting material but <br />that the rack will be up before the end of the week. City Manager Mead suggested <br />the Council pass an ordinance permitting the City to pick up bicycles left there <br />On motion duly made and seconded, matter of abatement proceedings on the E. <br />Lomhardino property, Lot 10, Block 40 Range A, Mezesville, was put over to the <br />meeting of December 20, 1943, <br />Claims Nos. 3402 to 3473 in the amount of 08,190.87 were approved and ordered paid on1 <br />motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />Mayor Granger presented a resolution that the Council- adjourn out of respect to the <br />K <br />.memory of Kenneth Phillips, a former member of the Redwood City Municipal Band, <br />who was killed in action in Italy on October 14, 1943, and that a copy of <br />resolution be sent to members of his family. Resolution was offered by^Council- <br />man Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the -Council adjourn in <br />respect to the <br />memory of Kenneth Phillips, <br />a former member of <br />the <br />Redwood City <br />Hunicipp,l Band, <br />who was' -killed in action in <br />Italy on October <br />14, <br />1943, and that <br />a copy of the resolution be sent to members of his family. Collins, Fire <br />Chief M. R.. Ryan, CityCollector N. L. Miramontes, Street Superintendent H. L. <br />Winter. Absent: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, 11. W. Hilton. <br />.Minutes of previous meeting were approved as mailed on .motion of Councilman. Arms <br />seconded by Councilman Brit,schgi. <br />Application for dance permit for dances to be held December 22nd and December 29th at <br />Foresters Hall was received from Eldon Algeo, license fee havin& been paid. <br />Councilman. Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that permit be <br />granted subject to same restrictions under which last permit was granted: <br />?I <br />
