1 <br />L] <br />Councilman Britschgi asked if there was any way in which the Council could control the <br />lighting in local bars. He specifically mentioned Sodini's and also said that <br />one door was kept locked thereby creating a hazard. Mayor Granger and Council- <br />man McNulty were ef'th a opinion that doors leading into„bars have to be'le ft <br />clear so that they can be seen through. Chieg'Collins explained that -the State <br />Board of'Equalization had madera new vuling because of the fact that women and <br />juveniles passed by 'the bars. He also stated that%a new ordinance was being <br />considered in San'Francisco whereby bars must be yroperly`light-ed or th sir <br />licenses will be revoked. ' City Attorney McCarthy statbd thet the city Attorney <br />of San Francisco had been asked by the Board of Supervisors to get an opinion o <br />` this subject and that he would see if he could get a copy of the opinion.• <br />Claims No. 3479 to 3532, totaling $10,345.75, were approved and ordered paid',on motio <br />of Councilman McNulty, seconded by*Councilman'Fletcher.. <br />Mayor aranger'asked•City Clerk Dodge to check upon an embossed paper to be used in <br />sending resolutions to families'of deceased persons in whose memory -the Council <br />has adjourned itssmeetings. <br />`Councilman Fletcher offered resolution, seconded by Councilman McNulty, adjourning <br />meeting in memory of Adolph `Trager, a city employee who passed away December 16 <br />1943, and that a copy of'the resolution be sent to members of his family. On <br />call of roll, motion carried, Councilmen Hilton and Anderson absent. <br />Councilman Armstrong offered resoluti6n, sedonded by Councilman Britschgi, that <br />meeting be adjourned in respect to the memory of Malta Steppe, Jr., 'kh o lost <br />his life while serving in the armed forces of his country, and'that a copy of <br />the resolution be sent to members of his family: On call of roll, motion <br />carried, Councilmen Anderson and Hilton absent: <br />R.
